Library Media Center Overview

Cardinal O’Hara High School’s library center recently underwent major renovations to provide a state-of-the-art study and learning environment for students.  Technology upgrades to the library include new flat panel monitors and keyboards for the 20 Dell computers designated for student use.  Plans are underway to install a SMART Technologies interactive whiteboard, which will allow students and teachers to interact with lessons and materials in an engaging way.

Students can relax and study in the library media center, with new sofas and chairs providing a comfortable option for reading or preparing for a big test.  New study tables allow small groups of students to study or work together on projects.

Cardinal O’Hara’s materials collection includes new and classic texts from all genres; ensuring students have access to relevant and engaging material.  New shelving and racks help students easily locate the materials they need.  Our New York State-certified full-time library media specialist, Ms. Janet Kindron, helps students and teachers utilize the library media center to enhance the learning process for students, and prepare them for college study.
