About Driver Education

Cardinal O’Hara High School is offering our Driver Education Program for Fall 2021.  This program, taught by trained professionals, offers students both behind the wheel and classroom instruction in compliance with the New York State Education Department.

Satisfactory completion of the program requires 24 hours of vehicle and 24 hours of classroom instruction as well as successfully passing the written and driving skills tests.  Due to the COVID-19 in car training limitations, a parent/guardian must document and attest to providing 12 of the 24 hours of in-car instruction.

Failure to meet the 24 hours of classroom and 24 hours of in-car requirements will result in failure of the course and denial of the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles form MV-285 and insurance certificate.

Registration is on a first come, first serve basis and classes fill up fast.

The cost of the class is $625.00. A $100.00, non-refundable deposit is required to secure your spot. The remaining balance is due on the first day of class. Should the student withdraw or be dismissed after the second class, no refunds will be given.
