Cardinal O’Hara High School is offering our Driver Education Program for Cardinal O’Hara students and high school students in the community.  Our program, taught by trained professionals, offers students both behind the wheel and classroom instruction in compliance with the New York State Education Department.

Satisfactory completion of the program requires 24 hours of vehicle and 24 hours of classroom instruction as well as successfully passing the written and driving skills tests.

Benefits of Driver Education:

Students who complete all 24 hours of classroom requirements, all 24 hours of in-car requirements and pass this course will receive a NYS Department of Motor Vehicles form MV-285 and insurance certificate which allows:

  • Senior driving privileges (driving past 9 PM) at 17 years of age
  • Possible reduction in insurance premiums by auto insurance companies

Registration is on a first come, first serve basis and classes fill up fast.

Details:

The cost of the class is $650.00. A $100.00, non-refundable deposit is required to secure your spot. The remaining balance is due on the first day of class. Should the student withdraw or be dismissed after the second class, no refunds will be given.
