About the Physical Health Department

Physical Education at our school is designed to enhance students’ athletic mechanical skills by reinforcing effective participation.  Skills that are related to sport strategy are also implemented in the class. Through demonstration and one-on-one assessment, students learn skills that are necessary to be an effective teammate, or individual athlete.  Physical Education is a pass/fail subject and requires avid and productive participation. Physical education activities include: volleyball, flag and ultimate football, basketball, speedball, pickleball, badminton, frockey (Frisbee game), dodgeball (not mandatory), floor hockey, outdoor Soccer, and softball and archery.

Preparation for class requires gymnasium shoes (sneakers), t-shirt, long sleeve-T, or non-hooded sweatshirt, gym shorts, sweatpants, or runners.  Clothes for class must be white, black or gold (yellow as well), or a combination of those colors.

Four (4) years of completed Physical Education classes are required for graduation.  Dance class is also available for Physical Education Credit.
