The most ambitious fundraising initiative to date, our Thanks-A-Million campaign will help secure the future of our beloved school by establishing a strong endowment fund as well as help us to facilitate changing curriculum needs, innovative programming and needed upgrades to our physical campus.
The campaign began as an idea to have 100 donors commit to $2,000 per year for five years. That would raise $1 million!
As the idea began to formulate, a conversation with an alumni from the Class of 1972 loved the idea and wanted to help the school solidify a stronger future for our students. He agreed to match each donation made to the campaign, therefore making it a $2 million campaign!
A very special thank you to the Michael ’72 and Donna Weinholtz Foundation for this generous match.
With their match, you can double YOUR impact to COHS by becoming a founding member of the campaign!
We are grateful to each alumnus who has committed to the campaign so far. These gifts and your commitment to COHS is invaluable to us and our future.
~ Continue to build and strengthen relationships with our alumni and supporters who value their experiences with Cardinal O’Hara and understand what it means to be a part of the O’Hara Hawk family.
~ Grow our student body by expanding our outreach with a comprehensive marketing plan highlighting all that COHS has to offer.
~ Increase accessibility to an affordable private, Catholic/Christian education for all who seek it through more scholarship and tuition assistance opportunities.
~ Plan and execute Capital Projects to improve the infrastructure of the building and campus.
Cardinal O’Hara strives to build a strong academic endowment that will allow us to provide more need-based tuition assistance through scholarships and other tuition assistance programs. This is crucial in staying faithful to our mission, growing our student population and providing academic offerings that are career oriented and challenging.
One half of the money raised through the campaign will be placed into an endowment fund that will grow over time with the interest being used for scholarships and tuition assistance.
After 60 years, the physical facility and grounds of COHS are in need of upgrades. While we have made many improvements over the years, we will overhaul several areas of our 17 acre campus, inside and out, so that our students will have the benefit of learning and playing in a state-of-the-art atmosphere.
The second half of the funds raised will be used each year to upgrade the facility and enhance the academic programs necessary for continued student success at COHS and beyond.
